With only a short drive (a shuttle service available) from the resort, we arrived pretty close to our tee time. We would advise to get there in plenty of time as they have a good practice area including a putting green, chipping area and nets.
It’s very difficult to put into words how visually stunning Druids Glen is. There are so many features all the way round, especially some of the par 3′s. The course is in excellent condition with fast and consistent greens, large fairway bunkers, and lots of water!!
We played off the white tees but would suggest playing off the green tees if you’re not a big hitter as there were some large carries and long 2nd shots into well protected greens.
As everywhere else in the Druids Glen Resort, the service was fantastic. We were advised after the round that the greens were running a touch slower than normal, so it’s best to get on the practice green to get a good feel for them.
As well as your golf clubs you will definitely need a camera to take round with you to capture some good memories of a great golf course. We can see why it’s called “the Augusta of Europe”. If you’re ever in Ireland, this is a must play course and excellent value for money.
